In order to support the conservation of heritage in Hong Kong, Professor Paul Kan will donate four agarwood items from his collection for a charity sale to be held in September 2014. Part of the proceeds will go to the Helena May, which will celebrate its centenary in 2016.

Professor Paul Kan is the founder of The Imperial Museum, a private museum which houses a wide range of treasures that the founder has collected over many years. The exhibits range from jade, textiles, imperial robes, seals, Buddhist statues, to calligraphies, rare books, ceramics, etc. Within the Imperial Museum is a division dedicated to agarwood, showcasing thousands of agarwood artifacts from the Professor's collections. In 2011, Professor Paul Kan founded the Institute of Agarwood in response to rising interest about agarwood, and the appeal to form an international organisation for the preservation, promotion, study, research and development of the agarwood industry and heritage.

Situated in a unique heritage building in Garden Road, The Helena May is a private members' club set up in 1916 by Lady Helena May, the wife of the 15th Governor of Hong Kong, to be a welcoming and affordable club for women of all nationalities and from all walks of life. The Club will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016. Professor Paul Kan is an associate member of the Club.

Maintaining a heritage building is expensive. In order to support the conservation of Hong Kong's best-loved heritage buildings, Professor Paul Kan, a philanthropist and collector, as well as a devotee of preserving our cultural and historical heritage, has selected 4 meaningful pieces from his agarwood collection for a charity auction scheduled to be held in September. Part of the proceeds will be donated to support the conservation of heritage in Hong Kong, including The Helena May, one of the few historical buildings that have remained untouched for a century.

為支持保育香港之歷史建築，簡文樂教授將捐出四件其私人收藏的沉香珍品，於 2014 年 9 月作慈善拍賣，部分收益將撥捐梅夫人婦女會。該會歷史悠久， 2016 年為梅夫人婦女會的一百年周年記念。

簡文樂教授為皇家博物館之創辦人，該博物館是一所私人博物館，收藏了簡教授多年來蒐集的各式珍藏，包括玉器、織繡緙絲、龍袍、璽印、佛像，以至書畫、古籍及瓷器等。館內設有一個以沉香為主題的「沉香館」，展出了簡教授過千件沉香珍藏。於 2011 年，為回應大眾對沉香的關注，以及相關人士促請於本地設立國際性沉香組織的訴求，簡教授特意成立了「沉香學會」，藉此推廣大眾對保育沉香和沉香文化的認識，以及積極推動業界在有關方面的交流、研究及發展。

位於花園道一所獨特歷史建築內的梅夫人婦女會，是由第十五任港督梅含理夫人於 1916 年所創立的私人會所，旨在為不同國籍的婦女，及至各界人士，提供一個親切舒適，而且價格相宜的會所服務。梅夫人婦女會將於 2016 年慶祝其百周年紀念，而簡教授也是該會的會員。

由於保養歷史建築成本高昂，為支持保育香港人所鍾愛的歷史建築，作為慈善家、收藏家、文化及歷史文物的愛好者，簡教授特意從珍藏中挑選了四件沉香珍品，於九月作慈善義賣。部分收益將作為支持保育香港歷史建築之用，當中包括碩果僅存，經歷百年也能保持完好的梅夫人婦女會。

The Giant's Causeway 巨人長堤 This densely overlapping, tapered, cylindrical structure resembles the Giant’s Causeway located northwest of Belfast in Northern Ireland. The Causeway was formed by more than 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns from volcanic eruption.
